Description:
Project HOPE provides services to pregnant women or women parenting their first child,
ages 21 and under, who are Medicaid eligible and reside in Wyandotte County.
Program Size:
Project HOPE serves hundreds of families each year.
Eligible Applicants:
All participants must:
Live in Wyandotte County;
Be ages 21 or under;
Pregnant with their first child or a parent of one child;
Medicaid eligible.
Project HOPE is totally voluntary.
Type of Assistance:
Project HOPE provides assistance with education, childcare, family planning, baby
supplies, health care and counseling. Many services are provided by referrals to other
local agencies. Families are assisted in their homes by trained professionals.
Contributors to the Program:
Project HOPE receives funding from local and federal funding sources.
PHA Funding:
KCKHA supports Project HOPE by making public housing residents aware of the services and
making referrals with the consent of the resident. No direct public housing funds are used
for Project HOPE.
