COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM

Description:
KCKHA works with Crosslines to ensure that every eligible family and elderly person is receiving commodities, if qualified and desired by the resident. Commodities are distributed monthly and the Housing Authority is a proxy, therefore families and elderly persons with no transportation can receive their goods.

Program Size:
The program serves hundreds of individuals and families monthly.

Eligible Applicants:
Applicants must meet certain requirements depending upon income, age, etc, as outlined by the USDA.

Type of Assistance:
Qualified persons may receive cereal, canned juice, peanut butter, dried beans/peas, canned meat, evaporated milk, nonfat dry milk, canned fruits, canned vegetables, dehydrated potatoes, rice and cheese.

Contributors to the Program:
It is a USDA-federally funded program.

PHA Funding:
No public housing funds are used for this program.
