The Housing Authority of Kansas City, Kansas invites bids for Exterior Repair, Paint & Roof Improvements, Development K1-6, "Douglas Heights Family Development", 4108 Lawrence Drive, Kansas City, KS 66106, to be received in the Administration Building of the Housing Authority at 1124 North 9th Street, Kansas City, Kansas not later than 2:00 p.m., June 8, 2010 at which time the bids submitted in accordance with the bid documents will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after the specified time will be returned unopened to the sender. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope, which shall be clearly labeled with the words:

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 1, 2010, at the Douglas Heights High Rise in the Community Room, located at 1742 S. 40th, Kansas City, KS 66106.
Work consists of exterior painting, replacement of exterior trim and siding, downspouts and gutter, roof repair/replacement on (27) buildings and the Community Center as indicated on the drawings. Various requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) including Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions for Public Housing Programs shall apply to this invitation. A bid bond in the amount of 5% is required. 100% Performance and labor and material payment guarantees will be required as outlined in the instructions to bidders. A Copy of Contractor’s License from the Unified Government of Kansas City/Wyandotte County will be required, as well as an executed HUD Form 5369A (Representations, Certifications, and Other Statements of Bidders, Public and Indian Housing Programs).
The requirements for bidding and the requirements of the work are detailed in the bidding and construction documents. These documents are available from the architect upon payment of a $50 deposit, refundable upon return of clean usable documents (NO PERMANENT MARKERS) within 7 days of receipt of bids.
