Invitation for Bids
HVAC Modifications Development K1-13, Welborn Villas"

The Housing Authority of Kansas City, Kansas invites bids for HVAC Modifications, Development K1-13, "Welborn Villas", 5122 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66104, to be received in the Administration Building of the Housing Authority at 1124 North 9th Street, Kansas City, Kansas not later than 2:00 p.m., July 7, 2009 at which time the bids submitted in accordance with the bid documents will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after the specified time will be returned unopened to the sender. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope, which shall be clearly labeled with the words:

"HVAC Modifications, Development K1-13, Welborn Villa Apartments"

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 24th, 2009, at the project site in the Community Room, located at 5122 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66104.

Work consists of selective precision interior demolition and reconstruction, new finishes as required, removal and disposal of existing HVAC equipment, new HVAC equipment, and general construction requirements in (74) units as indicated on the drawings and an alternate to replace (3) HVAC units in the community center. Various requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) including Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions for Public Housing Programs shall apply to this invitation. A bid bond in the amount of 5% is required.

The requirements for bidding and the requirements of the work are detailed in the bidding and construction documents. These documents are available from the architect upon payment of a $50 deposit, refundable upon return of documents within 7 days of receipt of bids.
